御朱印（ごしゅいん）は、神社やお寺に参拝した証としていただく印章と墨書です。社寺の名、御祭神や御本尊、参拝の日付などが、朱の印と流れるような墨字で記されます。もとは写経を納めた証だったとも言われ、今日では参拝の記念として広く親しまれています。
それを一冊にまとめるのが御朱印帳（ごしゅいんちょう）。蛇腹に折られた和紙の帳面で、社寺の授与所や社務所でいただけます。神社とお寺で帳面を分ける方もいれば、一冊にまとめる方も。決まりごとより、まずは「自分の一冊」を持つことから始まります。
Goshuin is a seal and brush-written inscription given as proof of a visit to a shrine or temple. Collected in a folding book called a goshuinchō, it becomes a personal record of one's pilgrimage across Japan.
